Shawn, Garry and I had another good game of WW3 Team Yankee recently.
Garry fielded 240 points of Soviets against Shawn and I, each with 120 points of Americans.
We rolled up Killing Ground, a very interesting challenge, with Shawn and I attacking and Garry defending. The deep reserve rule would have really messed Garry up, as he brought BMP-3 mech infantry to defend and the front armor 5 of the BMP-3 would have forced them to stay off the table in deep reserve.
That would be no fun, so we waived the deep reserve rule for the BMP-3s and waded in. We set up 2 objectives quite far apart, forcing Garry to spread his defenders widely. We then mounted a heavy assault on his left objective, attacking up a wooded hill against a large BMP-3 company. The fighting was very hard, and we made it onto the objective, but Garry's heroic infantry held just long enough for his reserves to arrive, sealing a narrow Soviet victory. It was a hoot of a game, great fun.
