Our long-running Suez, 1973 campaign using Fate of a Nation, has reached its end point.
After a lightning crossing of the Suez Canal, the Egyptian forces slowly ground their way across the western Sinai, relentlessly closing on the critical passes in the center of the penninsula.
Israeli forces counterattacked valiantly, scoring a number of local successes, but never managing to put the Egyptians on their heels. As the dust settled on the last fighting, the Egyptians held both Mitla and Gidi Passes, securing a strategic victory in our version of the October War on this front.
The campaign was a great success, generating over 40 tabletop battles, with interesting force match ups. Playing this many games with historical forces allow players to really hone their tactics with each force, and learn how to utilize its strengths and manage its inevitable weaknesses. Great fun all around!
