WW3 Team Yankee: Iran-Iraq Action

We took a break from the European Theatre this month to try 120 point forces in an irrigated valley in Khuzestan.

Bart, Dennis and I matched off with Iranians versus Iraqis, while Dave and Mike tried out Dave's new Australians against East Germans.

The Iran / Iraq matchup using the lists in Oil Wars is very competitive, nicely reflecting the actual fighting during the war. The better motivated Iranian forces tend to take very heavy losses to the larger, but less motivated, Iraqi units. But the Iranians typically hang in there, and wear the Iraqis down until they run.

This time the Iranians manages to pull out a narrow win against the Iraqis, while the Australians lost narrowly to the East Germans. Great fun.
