The English army had encamped on a ridge and deployed behind a long line of stakes as the French approached.
After seven turns of close to 2,000 figures battling it out the English line held but not before some nervous moments. The Scottish allied division on the French right managed to push all the way to the English camp before King Henry's mounted reserves arrived to restore the situation.
