The Japanese resupply operation in full swing
Cruel Seas: Pacific Action


Chris and Gary are among the local gamers who have built forces for Warlord Games' "Cruel Seas" a game of WW2 naval combat between light forces. Recently, they played the "Turkey Shoot" scenario from the main rulebook.

This pits a Japanese force attempting to resupply a small island outpost against a force of marauding US PT boats intent on interdicting them. The game plays fast and furious and is beautifully produced. Highly recommended!

Two torpedoes race towards the transport. Gary would have (historically accurate) horrendous luck with his torpedoes. Only one of the four that scored hits would actually detonate



Hit by cannon fire, a sampan burns









An escorting Hei class minesweeper enters the fray. It quickly lands hits on the PT boats turning the tide for the Japanese



A Daihatsu landing craft makes a desperate attempt to ram the enemy
